Animated Illustration for Airport Assistance Services

Visualising the Passenger Journey with Empathy and Clarity

When Wilson James approached me to bring their airport assistance service to life, the brief was clear: show the experience from booking to boarding, and highlight the care and personalisation that underpin every stage. Together, we mapped out the key moments of the journey and the essential values they wanted to convey. Above all, the human touch behind the service.

With the core messages defined, I had creative freedom to design the characters who would carry the story. From booking agents to BSL-trained airport assistants, I developed a diverse cast that reflected the range of people involved in helping passengers navigate the airport with ease.

As the animation took shape, I found myself deeply engaged in the central character’s story: a passenger who required support throughout their journey. I imagined their world, how they might feel, who was travelling with them and how each staff member contributed to their sense of calm and confidence.

What surprised me most was the scale and sensitivity of the support network behind the scenes. From logistical guidance to emotional reassurance, airport assistance staff play a vital role in making travel less stressful for those who require extra help. This project offered me a window into that world and I felt honoured to make the invisible network of care more visible.
