Live Illustration for Ivanti: Bringing Tech and Cybersecurity to Life
I recently had the pleasure of providing live illustration for Ivanti, a global leader in IT infrastructure and cybersecurity. The event, hosted at Art’Otel in Shoreditch, brought together Ivanti’s partners and customers for a day dedicated to innovation, collaboration and showcasing their vital work in keeping organisations connected, secure and resilient.
As a live illustrator, my role was to visually capture the key themes, discussions and energy in real time - transforming complex technical conversations into clear, engaging visual stories that reflected the spirit of the day.
Turning complex ideas into visual clarity
Cybersecurity and IT infrastructure aren’t always the easiest topics to picture. My challenge was to distil intricate concepts (like digital transformation, automation and secure connectivity) into visuals that made sense at a glance.
Throughout the event, I listened, sketched and refined ideas on the spot, creating a series of digital drawings that evolved alongside the talks and panel discussions. Delegates could watch the drawings take shape as the day unfolded, sparking conversations and giving a new, creative lens through which to explore the subject matter.
One of my favourite parts of events like these is seeing the audience’s reaction - the moment people spot their idea, comment or quote appear in the illustration. It’s instant connection and shared ownership of the story being told.

Behind the scenes
Alongside the final artwork, I also created timelapse videos showing the illustration coming to life - a favourite addition for event follow-ups, social media and future marketing campaigns. The audience loved seeing the process unfold, and it’s always a great way to extend the impact of live illustration long after the day itself.
